Final Fantasy XIV’s New Year Event Grants the Cutest Samurai Helmets Ever

Final Fantasy XIV is planning to celebrate the New Year with its traditional Heavensturn event, which can grant players with the usual “Kabuto” samurai helmets that are given each year.

Those are a terrific way to show just how much of a veteran you’re, and in the event that you can sport one of the first bunny helmets out of 2011 you can be as badass as me.

Since you might have imagined, the helmets are themed following the year at the Greek calendar, which may cause some rather funny design “injuries” enjoy in 2015 when people went about with a monkey’s bald bum onto their mind. No.

2018 is the year of the dog, and Square Enix decided to move the super-cute manner, granting players black and white versions of their “Inu Kabuto” (Inu means “Dog” in Japanese), with some absolutely adorable Shiba Inu on top. We also get a stuffed dog with conventional Japanese shrine decorations to our houses.

The event will start tomorrow, December 31st, at seven AM Pacific Time, and will end on January 15th, 2018.

Below    you can check out the celebratory artwork made for the event, and also the rewards. The questline will start in Limsa Lominsa, to the Upper Decks.

If you would like to find out more about the game, you can even enjoy our recent interview using Naoki Yoshida and our review of the   Stormblood  expansion.
