Right now it’s December 31st from the west, however, in Japan it’s 2018. Some of the most important developers and publisher from the archipelago of the climbing sun chose to welcome the New Year (which at Japan is the most important holiday there is) using videos.
To start with, we get Bandai Namco, that put its important developers before a camera, to wish us all Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. We even get 1 Kamehameha-style.
Arc System Works chosen for a more traditional style, yet it wasn’t with no spin, with Guilty Gear series Director Daisuke Ishiwatari playing his guitar. We receive the tease of fresh games, and an “Arc System Works 30th Anniversary Festival” that’ll be held in May.
Last, but not least, is Koei Tecmo, which went with a very different approach and said farewell to 2017 by looking back to the veritable cornucopia of games they published this calendar year, beginning from NiOh to Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, there’s something for everyone. We even get a nostalgic look in Dead or Alive 5: The Last Round, which is finally going the way of the dodo this year, following seven season moves. When it isn’t a Guinness World Record, it should be.
You can enjoy all the videos below. And because it’s almost time, Happy New Year from us all at DualShockers, to you! May 2018 be a year old even far better games.
