Nintendo fans need to come to terms with this — we may never receive a brand new Wave Race game. Regardless of the jet rollercoaster making a few Virtual Console looks (and a formulaic trademark filing in Europe), there’s only hasn’t ever been any news of a new variant since 2001’s Wave Race: Blue Storm for GameCube. And although it is not the canon release series fans are looking for, developer Zordix’s Aqua Moto Racing Utopia may be the next greatest thing.
Originally released two years back to both PC and PlayStation 4, Zordix is teaming up with publisher Bigben Interactive to bring the game for Nintendo Switch.
The select few who have retained their attention on the maturation of Aqua Moto Racing Utopia will notice that this isn’t the first time Zordix has guaranteed that a Nintendo release of the game. The jet ski name was initially revealed for the the Wii U and hinted at for the New Nintendo 3DS. However, both variants of this game seemed to be on hiatus as equally systems obtained overshadowed from the Switch’s prevalence.
Concerning the game itself, Aqua Moto Racing Utopia offers a generally robust choice of game styles — seven in total. Included in such manners are championships, single-player, four player split-screen, and online gameplay. Along with that, the game shows off roughly 45 distinct kinds of jet skis — that I presume is each single time of jet ski that in fact exists.
