This morning I was finally taking some time to have a look at the Japanese Nintendo Direct Mini aired yesterday, since let’s be fair, the Japanese ones are only more entertaining. About halfway through it, something jumped into my eyes: the Japanese trailer showcased for SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy is very different from the one revealed at the North Western and American broadcasts.
The speaker immediately sets the tone of this Japanese trailer by saying the game is a “gathering of SNK’s sexy and cute heroines. ” In English, “sexy and cute” turns out to “fan-favorite. ”
All the way throughout the preview, the heroines showcased at the Western model wear heavier outfits compared to the ones contained in the English one, on the stage that the tone of the two videos is nothing alike.
It’s’s worth mentioning, though, that the pictures of the English version of this game published by NIS America (that will publish the game at the west) via press release do include the hot outfits. It seems that we aren’t looking at actual cuts or change to the game, as much as a different approach to advertise the game for the western economy in comparison to the Western market.
In addition, we don’t know if the choice to present such a different trailer came from Nintendo, NIS America, or even SNK itself. We contacted NIS America seeking a clarification on those points, and also we’ll let you know whether we hear.
In the meanwhile, you can take a look at the two versions of the preview below. Simply play with them both at the same time to see the level of the changes.
