Fortnite Gets a Battle Royale Map Update with New Areas and Tidbits

Fortnite recently got an upgrade this week which contained a new snare, NVIDIA ShadowPlay features, and other gameplay tweaks. But Epic Games wasn’t quite finished apparently, as they’ve declared another update for second week.

As many gamers possibly know, fantastic quality maps are what make battle royale games truly flourish. Understanding the map and what’s where’s 1 thing, but being able to be caught unaware (or furthermore, catching your opponent unaware) is exactly what keeps the games fresh.   Fortnite is getting new places and points of interest added to its Battle Royale map. Including a new city place, a deserted blossom, and a junkyard.

Epic Games released a video to speak about this  particular update. Here’s what lead designer Eric Williamson had to mention:

“[Our map update includes] a lot of new things of interest, for example, town, and a bunch of new named areas in the west from the map. We felt [the west] was a little bit light on things of interest, therefore we wanted to even the island out and make it feel as if there were more locations to drop into.

We’ve also separated the map into more clearly-defined ‘biomes. ’ The daybed feels swampier, the hills feel more mountain-ey…actually, the various areas of the map feel more unique. There is also a whole lot of quality-of-life improvements.”

Allowed, a shake-up in number could assist battle royale games maintain their relevance for more, although they’re certainly not having that issue currently. It allows new players have a bit of an edge over experienced veterans as the two of these operate towards beating themselves with new obstacles, balancing the scales a little more fairly.
