The latest and greatest gaming feud, Bluehole Studios’ PUBG and Epic Games’ Fortnite, is carrying to a brand new degree of competition. Even the PUBG advancement group laid out their plans for 2018 and it looks like they’re attempting to copy some of the more successful elements of exactly what Fortnite contributes to this increasingly-competitive battle royale.
News comes in the PlayerUnknown’so called Battlegrounds development site, in which the studio was expecting to clean the atmosphere and generate a prioritization list for the neighborhood. The most notable change in the functions is a brand-new island map that is defined as only 4x4km — likely the biggest play towards the Fortnite audience. This new map will soon be available on PUBG‘s experimental evaluation server starting next month.
At this time, you may be asking: why is this a move aimed toward Fortnite?
By decreasing the map to a 4×4 distance as seen under, PUBG‘s games will become much faster and action-packed as players are confined to more compact locations from the start. This, in turn, will cause shorter games, something that gets near-universal compliments from the battle royale genre.
Another addition coming into the list of changes is an Emote System — that a feature which is going to be coming into the Test Server “shortly.
Of course, not everything on the roadmap is targeting the Fortnite audiences and a lot of the approaching programs are easy tweaks and polishing of everything PUBG really does best. As you can imagine, another major focus for the development group is working out the kinks in stability — a task that’s a much more common subject of debate for both developers and the neighborhood. In this regard, Bluehole mentioned “it’s impossible to solve these problems once and for all, but our objective is to continuously improve in this regard. ”
Other occasional tweaks being worked on during the entire year is an advancement in audio design, an emphasis on producing eSport instruments, and execution and expansion of Custom Games that will come later through the year.
And while PUBG is now taking an aggressive stance in regards to growth, to be their main rival Fortnite. In the past month, Epic Games has shown they will support Xbox One cross-platform service, a launching onto cellular platforms, also a brand new 20 person team style, along with Xbox One X optimization.
