The original three Tomb Raider games will shortly be remastered and coming to Steam at a certain point in the future.
Developer Realtech VR will likely be in charge of bringing the games to Steam. The versions which will then appear on Steam will be remasters of those cellular editions of this Tomb Raider games.
Realtech quietly revealed they could be remastering the games to get Steam when responding to a question. Their tweet could be seen as follows:
TR1-3 remaster for PC are intended for Steam for free and also will requires the purchase of the DOS version being offered on Steam (like ZDoom playing Doom games). In addition, the PC version will supports OpenVR and includes a new 3D engine for the two games.
Because you can see inside their tweet, they also revealed that each of those three games will support OpenVR functionality to go alongside a brand new 3D engine for all three names. Maybe the best thing of all is that those who already own each of those 3 Tomb Raider games on Steam, you’ll be in a position to get these remasters for free.
While the forthcoming Tomb Raider film relies upon Lara Croft’s most recent games, it’s’s good that we’ll be in a position to more easily visit her past adventures. As of now, the arrival of these three remasters for PC does not have a launch date but we’ll keep you posted if this soon changes.
