The award ceremony for the British Academy Games Awards just finished, and the winners have been announced in London in the Troxy place.
The Game of the Year (or just “greatest game” because it’s formally termed) award moved to What Remains of Edith Finch, which defeat Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Super Mario Odyssey.
Should you’re curious, you can check out the complete list of winners below.
Nominees were selected by the Academy members through voting, whereas winners were picked through prosecution involving March 8th and March 1st. Only games released in the uk between January 1st and December 31st, 2017 were considered eligible to take part. Naturally, this rule does not apply to the Evolving Game class.
