Observing the reveal preview of Rage 2 earlier today, more information on the open world first-person shooter has continued to trickle. Details such as platforms and the box art were a number of the initial details to arrive and today, it seems like we know who’ll be creating the job.
When checking out the official Rage 2 website, the English edition of the site doesn’t discuss much information about who’s developing the job, though when changing the language of the site, these details look. Upon altering the translation of the page into Dutch, Russian, Italian, or some of the other languages provided other than English and Japanese, the game’s description reveals Avalanche Studios along with id Software will soon be co-developing Rage 2.
Avalanche Studios is well-known for making a litany of open-world titles such as Just Cause 3 along with also the more closely related apocalyptic game Mad Max. Identification Software, on the other hand, served as the original programmers behind Rage and in recent years is most famous for its re-launch of all DOOM. It appears like Avalanche was brought to Rage 2 to help operate on the open floor elements of the game whilst identity Software will once again boast their own always-satisfactory shooting mechanics.
What’s fascinating about this pair working together, however, will be to see whether it affects any additional rumored projects and their timelines. Just Cause 4 and DOOM 2 are much-rumored rumored names that some thought might appear at E3 next month, however this has all just been conjecture with no proof.
In any event, we’ll definitely continue to find out more about Rage 2 and either of those studio’s other projects following month during E3 2018.
Hey advertising, here are a few notes. Can’t blame Canada that moment. pic.twitter.com/E38PjUD8Jd
