Though the gameplay will probably be super familiar to series fans, it will introduce a brand new class — the Grenadier — that has the capability to change up the common plans that Valkyria Chronicles buffs might have gotten accustomed since the series started.
I could already tell from that chapter alone that the Grenadier will be among my new favorite classes due to this exciting new strategic opportunities it offers.
As the title suggests, this level has Commander Claude Wallace along with Squad E taking back a castle from royal soldiers. The map has been T-shaped, together with enemies lined on the walls surrounding my soldiers and at the opposite end; debris also blocked the major pathway, so Claude’s tank couldn’t get through.
Starting off in the mission, it seemed like things might proceed very, very badly for Squad E. I was quite nervous when I played Valkyria Chronicles 4 due to my lofty expectations because of its title. Fortunately, the game sent, since the level I played was equally as entertaining as many levels from the initial Valkyria Chronicles. In addition to that, the newest Grenadier course should open up some interesting strategies, especially when assignments get more hectic and the amount of opponents increases.
Though the controls might need to be tweaked a little before launching, the game plays like a improved version of the very first name, which I don’t watch as a terrible thing. These new characters seem interesting, so I’m looking forward to spending a whole lot more time together and seeing this war from another angle than previously.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is currently available in Japan, although the game will likely be heading west fall 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
