Hardcore Mecha (Code: Hardcore) on PS4 Looks Awesome in New Couch Multiplayer Gameplay

Today, during a broadcast from ChinaJoy at Shanghai, the local arm of Sony Interactive Entertainment broadcasted quite a lot of gameplay of Rocket Punch Games’ Hardcore Mecha which was formerly known as Code: Hardcore.

The demo showcased four-player regional multiplayer, which is a bit of a rarity today on PS4, allowing four players to fight it out on split-screen in exactly the identical couch.

Obviously, we also have to take a fresh look in one of those game’s strongest things, that’s the wonderful 2D mecha and lovely animation reminiscent of Super Robot Wars.

You can enjoy all of the videos below. If you wish to find out more, you can even take a look at the brand new trailer from Sony’s ChinaJoy press conference.

It’s also wise to read our meeting with Director and Producer Louiky Mu, from once the job was on Kickstarter and hadn’t been picked for first-party support within the China Hero Project.

Incidentally, this is one to watch. The game is also available on PC.

Update: we received word out of the China Hero Project that Hardcore Mecha is now the official title of this game.
